If you and I were friends, my soul could unwind this shroud of sadness bound so tightly to my chest.
I'd ask you everything I couldn't ask before
And if one day, instead, we simply found some small, common ground on which to meet
If we could so much as scratch the surface of this world,
 And then may we find that true friendship guided us here all along...
